A man in his 60s has died in a crash involving a tractor in Co Leitrim.

The incident occurred on the L3355 near Mullaghycullen, Drumcong, shortly before 11pm on Sunday.

The man, who was driving the tractor, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has since been removed to the mortuary at Sligo University Hospital for a postmortem to take place in due course.

The local coroner has been notified.

The road remains closed for technical examination and diversions are in place.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage, including dash cam, and were travelling on the L3355 between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on Sunday, May 17th, have been asked to make their footage available to investigating gardaí.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact Carrick-on-Shannon Garda Station on (071) 965 0510, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.

Investigations are ongoing, gardaí said.
