A man is being treated in hospital after being stabbed in both legs in west Belfast.

Police received a report at around 3.05am on Saturday of a fight in the Lenadoon Avenue area, where a man was being attacked by a number of males.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Officers attended the scene, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, and one man was taken on to hospital, with stab wounds to both legs.

“Three men – a 42-year-old, 33 and 31-year-old – were subsequently arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

“They remain in police custody at this time.

“Our inquiries are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and has any information, including CCTV, ring-doorbell or other footage, to contact us on the 101 number, quoting reference 183 of 16/05/26.”
