Gardaí investigating after shots fired in Galway estate

Gardaí have launched an investigation after shots were fired and two cars were set on fire in an estate in Athenry, Co Galway.

The incident happened in Cullairbaun estate in the early hours of Sunday.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.

A technical examination of the scene has been conducted.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information in relation to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area of Cullairbaun and its surrounds at the given time are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the investigation team in Oranmore Garda Station on 091 288030, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
