Saturday's front pages focus on a range of stories, from officials questioning Phil Hogan being given a key UN post to issues with the proposed Cork Luas route.

The Irish Times reports that Government officials questioned how nominating former Fine Gael minister Phil Hogan to compete for a senior post leading the United Nations food security agency would “benefit” the State, internal emails show.

The Irish Examiner reports the Minister of State at the Department of Transport is “not happy” with the proposed route of the €2.5bn Cork Luas, which is set to cut through two sports clubs in his constituency.
