A woman arrested following an attempted car bomb attempt on the Lurgan PSNI station has been charged with obstructing police.

The dissident republican group, the New IRA, claimed responsibility for the incident in March that saw a food delivery driver hijacked in Kilwilkie and forced to drive a “crude but viable” device to the station.

The device failed to explode.

Three people were arrested on Wednesday by police investigating the incident.

A woman, 39, has been charged with obstructing police.

She has been released unconditionally in respect of perverting the course of justice and assisting an offender.

She is expected to appear before Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on June 3rd.

A 48-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy remain in custody at this time.
