A male motorcyclist in his late teens has been seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Ballymun in Dublin.

The collision occurred on Santry Avenue shortly after 10pm on Monday, April 6th.

The motorcyclist was struck by a car, and the driver failed to remain at the scene.

He was brought to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries and where he remains at this time.

The vehicle that failed to remain at the scene is believed to be a white or cream Renault Kaptur with a black roof.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any relevant information to come forward and assist with their investigation.

Road users who may have camera footage, including dash cam footage, and were travelling in the area between 10pm and 10.30pm have been asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
