Man and teen arrested in connection with fatal assault on Scarlett Faulkner

In light of the arrests of the man and the teenager on Tuesday morning, gardaí said they are continuing to investigate the fatal assault.

A man and a male teenager have been arrested in connection with the fatal assault of Scarlett Faulker.

The assault occurred on the R494 at Birdhill, Co Tipperary, on Saturday, March 21st.

A 16-year-old girl and a 40-year-old woman had previously been arrested and charged.

The girl was charged with one count of assault causing serious harm to Faulkner, while the woman was charged with four offences arising out of the alleged assault on Faulkner, including violent disorder, reckless endangerment and burglary.

A court previously heard that the 16-year-old girl struck Scarlett Faulkner 11 times on her head with an iron bar.

In light of the arrests of the man and the teenager on Tuesday morning, gardaí said they are continuing to investigate the fatal assault.

The man and teenager are being detained at garda stations in Co Tipperary.

A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support the family of the deceased, gardaí said.
