Two people have been hospitalised following a fire on Eden Quay in Dublin.

Emergency services responded to the blaze at a multi-storey building 6:40am on Tuesday.

Seven fire engines from three fire stations are on the scene with three ambulances from two fire stations in the city.

Dublin Fire Brigade says operations are ongoing and traffic restrictions are in place, which is also affecting Luas services between Saint Stephen's Green and Dominick.

Large plumes of smoke have been seen coming from the top of the building, which is home to the James Connolly pub.

There is disruption to traffic on Eden Quay while the Rosie Hackett Luas bridge is closed.

Green Line services are currently not operating between St Stephens Green and Dominick.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
