A woman has died following a single-vehicle collision in Knocklyon, Co Dublin, on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred in a car park on Idrone Avenue at 10.55 am.

A passenger in the car, a woman in her 80s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the car, a man aged in his 80s, was taken to Tallaght Hospital to be treated for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

No other injuries have been reported.

The scene was held for technical examination by Forensic Collision investigators and has since been lifted.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Witnesses who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were in the area between 10:45am and 11:15 am are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.
