A garda has been charged in relation to an organised crime investigation.

Gardaí said the man in his 50s has been suspended from duty during the investigation.

The Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (GNBCI) has been carrying out the investigation into alleged organised crime activity since 2021, a garda statement said.

The man is due to appear before Dublin District Court on Tuesday.

As the matter is now before the court, An Garda Síochána said they will not be making any further comment.
