A man in his 50s has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Co Cork.

He was killed when the car he was driving was involved in a single-vehicle incident in Castletownroche at approximately 12:50pm.

His body has been removed to Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem will take place.

The scene is being examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and is expected to reopen shortly.

Witnesses are asked to come forward.
