Teenage cyclist seriously injured following collision in Co Galway

A cyclist suffered serious injuries following a collision with a car in Claregalway, Co Galway, on Tuesday.

The collision occurred on the N83 at 8:00 pm.

The cyclist, a teenage boy, was brought by ambulance to University Hospital Galway, where he is being treated for serious injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

A technical examination of the scene was carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and the road has since fully reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage between Loughgeorge and Claregalway between 8:00pm and 8:30 pm are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.
