The coordinated operation, carried out under Operation Saul, took place in the Dublin 7 area on Thursday.

It involved targeted patrols and engagement on public transport, in collaboration with Luas operator Transdev, Dublin Bus, and the National Transport Authority’s Taxi Regulation division.

The arrests were made in connection with a range of suspected drug and theft offences. All of those arrested were males aged between 16 and 50.

Five men have since been charged and are due to appear before the courts at a later date. Two others have been released pending referral to the Youth Diversion Programme.

Two men are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin on Friday.
