Two people have been arrested following an arson attack on a house in Saintfield, Co Down.

Police said a woman was rescued from the property in the Manse Court area after a petrol bomb was thrown inside in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

It is being investigated as arson with intent to endanger life.

Later on Wednesday a man and a woman were arrested by detectives investigating the incident.

“A man aged in his 40s and a woman aged in her 30s have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life,” a PSNI spokesperson said.

“They both remain in police custody at this time.”
