A man in his early 20s has died following a collision involving an electric scrambler in Shannon, Co Clare.

The man was taken from the scene by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries following the collision, which occurred shortly after 11:30pm on Saturday.

The collision occurred on Bóthar Na Luachra, Shannon. The injured man was pronounced dead on Tuesday.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
