A man has died following a single-vehicle collision in Kilworth, Co Cork, on Monday.

The collision occurred on the R639 at Ballinrush, shortly after 11.15am.

The driver, a man in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will take place in Cork University Hospital.

The scene underwent a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling on the R639 near Ballinrush, Kilworth, Co Cork between 10.50am and 11.20am on Monday, March 23rd, have been asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Fermoy Garda Station on 025 82100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing, gardaí said.
