A total of 575 admitted patients are on trolleys in hospitals around the country on Monday.

University Hospital Limerick has accounted for the largest number of those, with 96, followed by Cork University Hospital with 54.

There are 43 people on trolleys in St Vincent's University Hospital, and 40 in Beaumont Hospital.

Of the total number of people waiting for beds, 393 are in emergency departments, while 182 are in wards elsewhere.
