A man in his late 20s has been arrested in relation to alleged criminal damage of agricultural equipment in July 2025.

The arrest is part of an investigation into the theft of cattle, burglaries, and criminal damage to agricultural and construction equipment in West Cork.

In a statement, gardaí said: "Gardaí have arrested a man, aged in his late 20s in relation to the criminal damage of agricultural equipment that occurred in Drimoleague, West Cork in July, 2025.

"He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in West Cork."

Investigations are ongoing, gardaí said.
