A man has died from his injuries after he was hit by a bus in Bray, Co Wicklow, on Thursday.

The incident occurred on the station road shortly before 6:00 pm.

The pedestrian, a man in his 80s, was conveyed to St Vincent’s University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

He died on Friday evening.

A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

A technical examination of the scene was conducted.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users and pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the area of Station Road, Bray, between 5:40pm and 6:10pm are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
