A new season of an Irish comedy-history podcast will be launched on Tuesday, with a special episode dedicated to St Patrick.

Hosted by comedians Kevin Larney and Jason Brennan, the "Shite Talk" podcast is known for its humorous takes on Irish history and culture.

The upcoming season will also feature episodes on topics such as football legends, the 1916 Rising, and the first census of the Irish Free State, alongside guest appearances from comedians, historians, and writers.

The upcoming season will cover a wide range of topics across Irish history and culture. Over the next few weeks, the hosts will jump on the World Cup bandwagon with football-themed stories, including the Irishman who helped save FC Barcelona, as well as a tribute to football legend George Best, who would have turned 80 this
April.

The podcast will also explore lesser-known aspects of the Easter Rising, which marks its 110th anniversary this year, and revisit the first census conducted in the Irish Free State in 1926.

Guests on the show include Roger O'Sullivan discussing the Rainbow Coalition Government of Ireland, and Davy Holden on all things Kilkenny.

The St Patrick’s Day special episode launches on 17 March, with new episodes
released weekly.
