A man in his 50s remains in serious condition after he was assaulted in an incident in Cabinteely, Dublin.

The incident took place in McIntosh Park around 3pm on Wednesday, and the man was brought to St Vincent's Hospital.

Gardaí subsequently arrested a man (30s) in connection with this investigation, and he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in Dublin.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have taken images or recorded footage (including dash-cam) of the incident to not share it on social media platforms or messaging apps, but instead to provide it to investigating Gardaí.

Anyone who was in the area of McIntosh Park, Cabinteely, at the time and who may have any information about the incident is asked to contact gardaí.
