A man in his 20s has been arrested and charged after a single-vehicle road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the L1513 at Drumlark, Loreto Wood, Co Cavan.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, February 17th.

A woman in her 20s was injured and taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

The male driver of the vehicle left the scene on foot. The passenger, a man in his 20s, was seriously injured.

He was removed from the scene to Cavan General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The man charged in connection with the investigation is due to appear before Monaghan District Court on Wednesday.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
