A total of 608 admitted patients were waiting for beds in hospitals around the country on Tuesday.

Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) show University Hospital Limerick accounts for the largest number of those, with 111, followed by Cork University Hospital with 59 and St Vincent's University Hospital in Dublin with 54

Of the total number of people on trolleys, 390 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 218 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
