A man has been arrested after €500,000 of cannabis was seized in Co Dublin on Saturday.

A van was intercepted and stopped in the Swords area of North Dublin.

Upon searching the vehicle, gardaí discovered cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €500,000.

The sole occupant of the vehicle, a man in his 20s, was arrested at the scene.

He is currently being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a Garda station in Dublin.
