Over €1m of cigarettes seized in Co Mayo

Gardaí have seized over €1 million worth of cigarettes in Castlebar, Co Mayo, on Saturday.

A search was carried out of a residential property under a search warrant by gardaí, where cigarettes worth €1,100,000 were found.

There was also €34,000 in cash found.

The cigarettes seized will now be subject to further examination.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
