A man in his 20s has been arrested and charged after gardaí seized cannabis worth an estimated €183,000 at Dublin Airport on Friday.

The 9.2kg of cannabis was discovered concealed and vacuum-sealed within the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight from Thailand.

A man in his 20s was subsequently arrested and detained at a Garda station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.

He has since been charged to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Friday.

The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis, gardaí said, and investigations are ongoing.
