683 admitted patients are waiting for beds on Wednesday, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) Trolley Watch.

419 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 264 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

University Hospital Limerick has the highest number of people waiting for beds at 131 patients. 60 people are waiting in the emergency department, while 71 are on wards elsewhere in the hospital.

At University Hospital Galway, 73 people are waiting for beds, with 41 waiting in the emergency department and 32 waiting elsewhere in the hospital.

Sligo University Hospital has 58 patients waiting, with 40 people in the emergency department and 18 elsewhere.

St Vincent's University Hospital has 52 people waiting, with 37 in the emergency department and 15 elsewhere.
