€10m worth of cannabis seized in Co Louth as three men arrested

Three men have been arrested following the seizure of 506 kgs of cannabis in Co Louth on Friday.

Gardaí arrested two men in their 30s, and one in his 50s, after searching a premises where €10,120,000 worth of cannabis was found.

The men - two in their 30s and one in his 50s - were arrested pursuant to Section 72 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006 in relation to facilitating and enhancing drug trafficking activities for an organised crime group.

They are currently detained, pursuant to the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007, at Garda stations in Co Louth and Co Dublin.

The joint operation was conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Revenue Customs Service.

Investigations are ongoing.
