A man in his 20s is in hospital following a serious assault that took place in Dublin on Friday evening.

Gardaí said the assault took place on North Wall Quay, Dublin 1 at approximately 11:30 pm on Friday night, after an event that had taken place in the area.

The man was subsequently brought to hospital with serious injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact them. Anyone who was in the area between 11:15 and 11:45 pm on Friday, January 30th, and who may have any information about the incident is asked to contact them.

Anyone with camera footage (including mobile phone and dash-cam footage) is asked to make it available.

Investigations are ongoing.
