A man is in hospital after he was struck by a piece of glass on the Oscar Traynor Road in Dublin on Thursday.

The incident occurred shortly after 6:30 pm.

A man, aged in his 50s, was struck by a glass implement that was thrown at him.

The man was conveyed to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.

Any persons who were in the vicinity of the Beechlawn and Bunratty areas on the Oscar Traynor Road between 6:20 pm and 7:00 pm on Thursday and who may have video footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
