The 2026 Golden Globe Awards — one of the first major awards shows each season — will honour the best in film and television from the past year.

Irish interest will be focused on Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal, who are both nominated for their performances in the big-screen adaptation of Maggie O'Farrell's book Hamnet.

Buckley in particular is considered to be a heavy favourite for a Best Actress victory.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another is the favourite for Best Picture.

The awards show, now in its 83rd year, is taking place in Los Angeles and will air live on CBS at 5pm California time (1am Monday Irish time).
