A man in his 80s has died following a one-car crash in Bushmills, Co Antrim on Saturday, police have said.

The PSNI said the collision, which involved a red Ford Kuga Titanium car, happened at around 2.35pm in the Carnbore Road area.

Chief Inspector Simpson said: “Officers, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, attended the scene.

“The driver, a male in his 80s, was taken to hospital, where he sadly passed away a short time afterwards.

“The Carnbore Road was closed for a time at the junction with Haw Road, but has since reopened.”

They have asked for any witnesses, or anyone with footage of the area, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit.
