Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian in his 80s died following a crash in Ennis, Co Clare on Monday.

The man was brought to hospital following the collision in the Abbey Street area at around 1pm where he was pronounced dead.

A postmortem examination has been completed and gardai are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.

In particular, they wish to speak with anyone who may have been in the area between 12.45pm and 1.15pm and has dash-cam footage.

Investigations are ongoing.
