An investigation has begun following the discovery of a woman’s body in Co Tipperary on Monday.

The woman's body was discovered shortly before 3pm in the countryside around Clonmel town.

The Garda Technical Bureau is currently examining the scene, which remains preserved at this time.

Gardaí said that the office of the State Pathologist and the local Coroner have been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.

It is understood that the discovery may be linked to the disappearance of a local woman (36) who has not been seen since November 19th, according to The Irish Times.
