A man has been charged in connection with a fatal crash in Co Monaghan.

A woman in her 30s died in the collision between a lorry and a car on the N2 at Castleblayney on Thursday morning at around 8am.

Gardaí arrested a man in his 50s, who's since been charged to appear before a special sitting of the courts on Friday evening. 

The road remains closed as efforts continue to remove the lorry.
