A man in his 20s has died after a single-car collision in Co Tipperary on Wednesday evening.

The incident took place at around 9.45pm on the N24 at Cordangan Cross.

The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, died at the scene.

His body was removed to Waterford University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.

The road remains closed on Thursday morning pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users, who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were traveling in the area around Tipperary town and the Bansha Road between 9:00pm and 10:00pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí. In particular, Gardaí are interested in potential sightings of a 2005-registered grey Toyota Yaris during this period.
