A woman has died from her injuries in hospital following a single-vehicle collision in Castleisland, Co. Kerry, on Wednesday.

The incident happened on the N23, Lisheenbaun, at approximately 11:40 pm.

The female driver and sole occupant of the car, aged in her 70s, was removed from the scene to Kerry University Hospital. She has since passed away.

Gardaí continue to appeal for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N23 in the Lisheenbaun, Castleisland area between 11:20 pm and 11:50 pm are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
