The PSNI have appealed for help to identify the body of a man who was found in Co Derry with “no personal items that could help with identification”.

The man, believed to have been in his mid-20s, was discovered in the Diamond area of Magherafelt on Sunday morning.

Inspector Knipe said “We believe this gentleman may have gone missing within the last 24 hours, and we are asking the public to think about any family members, neighbours or friends that they haven’t seen or heard from – and to check that they are safe and well.”

The man had short dark hair, a short dark beard, was of slim build and had three piercings in his left ear.

He was found wearing a navy T-shirt, a blue sports top, dark jogging bottoms and black and white Adidas shoes.
