Dublin needs additional Luas lines, a business group has said.

Richard Guiney, CEO of the group Dublin Town, said that people need to have more options.

Speaking on Newstalk, he said: "We do need to invest in the overall infrastructure and we need to give people more public transport options."

This follows a power outage on Wednesday that shut down the green line and affected parts of the red line.

Normal services resumed at 6pm on Thursday evening.

Mr Guiney added: "We very much believe that the Metro must go ahead. And we would like to see additional lines being added to the Luas network as well.

"We simply can't wait any longer for a public transport system that's required for a modern European centre."
