Most Instagrammed places in Ireland according to new study

Galway’s Connemara, is the most Instagrammed tourist destination in Ireland, according to a new study.

The research, carried out by Virgin Media Ireland, analysed the quantity of tagged Instagram posts from the country's most visited sites and attractions. The analysis used the total number of posts to identify the most popular spots on social media.

Galway claimed the number one position thanks to 826,000 Instagram posts featuring Connemara.

With 785,253 tagged posts, the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare claimed second place.

Dublin's Temple Bar maintained its status as Ireland's most-shared city spot, coming in third with 716,800 posts.

Glendalough in Wicklow ranked fourth with 284,700 posts, and the Ring of Kerry came in fifth with 273,979 posts.

Dublin's Phoenix Park and the Guinness Storehouse, Kerry's Dingle Peninsula, and the harbour town of Cobh in County Cork completed the top 10.
