Met Éireann issued a yellow wind warning for three counties.

A yellow wind warning has been issued for Dublin, Louth, Waterford, Wexford, and Wicklow.

The warning begins on Friday at 11 am until 5 pm.

Met Éireann has warned of difficult travelling conditions and loose objects displaced.

A rain warning has also come into effect for Cork and Kerry until 9 am on Saturday.

Met Éireann has warned of localised flooding, poor visibility, and difficult travelling conditions.

Friday will be wet and windy, with rain extending northeastwards and turning heavy in places.

Southeasterly winds will increase strongly and gusty with gales at times on the south and east coasts.

The rain will give way to scattered showers and some brighter spells extending from the southwest through the afternoon and evening as winds ease moderate to fresh southwesterly. Some of the showers will be heavy.

Afternoon highs of eight to 12 degrees generally, but six to nine degrees in Ulster.

Friday night will see some heavy showers and a cloudy night, with the lowest temperatures of five to 10 degrees.

Saturday will be generally breezy with showers or longer spells of rain in places, most widespread through the morning and early afternoon, and some of that will be on the heavy side.

There will be sunny spells in the morning, mainly in the south, where it will be driest.

Through the afternoon, more in the way of bright or sunny spells should develop from the south, with the rain and showers moving northwards and becoming more confined to Ulster later on.

Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees
