Yellow wind warning issued for three counties

Met Éireann issued a yellow wind warning for three counties.

A yellow wind warning has been issued for Waterford, Wexford, and Wicklow.

The warning begins on Friday at 11 am until 5 pm.

Met Éireann has warned of difficult travelling conditions and loose objects displaced.

Thursday will be dry and bright, with sunny spells and isolated showers, as remaining cloud and rain in the northeast clears.

Through the afternoon and evening, cloud will increase from the west with scattered showers gradually spreading eastwards, turning heavy at times with a chance of hail.

Highest temperatures of five to nine degrees.

Thursday night will ease for many, leaving a mostly dry night with clear spells.

However, showers will linger in the northwest for a time. Cloud will thicken from the southwest overnight with rain and drizzle moving into the southwest and west by morning.

Lowest temperatures of one to six degrees.

Friday will be wet and windy, with rain extending northeastwards and turning heavy in places.

Southeasterly winds will increase strongly and gusty with gales at times on the south and east coasts.

The rain will give way to scattered showers and some brighter spells extending from the southwest through the afternoon and evening as winds ease moderate to fresh southwesterly. Some of the showers will be heavy.

Afternoon highs of eight to 12 degrees generally
