524 people are waiting for a hospital bed across the country, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).

363 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 161 are in wards elsewhere in hospitals.

The hospital with the highest number of patients on trolleys is University Hospital Limerick, with 85 people waiting for a bed.

36 people are in the emergency department, with 49 elsewhere in the hospital.

At University Hospital Galway, 47 people are without a bed, with 36 patients in the emergency department.

At Letterkenny University Hospital, 37 people are without a bed, with 33 patients on trolleys. At University Hospital Sligo, 33 patients are on trolleys.
