Storm Éowyn was the most searched item on Google in Ireland this year.

The search engine released its 'Year in Search' data for 2025, which also shows 'how to pronounce Éowyn' was the third most popular 'how to' question.

The Presidential election featured strongly in the searches carried out by people here, with interest in the new President Catherine Connolly ranking at number three in the most searched list.

Connolly was the most searched person, followed by Maria Steen, Jim Gavin, Belle Gibson, and DJ Carey.

'How to bottle feed a breastfed baby' topped the list of most common 'how to' searches this year, followed by 'how to spoil your vote Ireland'.

'How to pronounce Éowyn', 'How to watch Europa League final in Ireland', and 'How to register to vote' completed the top five.

Overall, and following Storm Éowyn, the Ryder Cup was the second most searched term, while people in Ireland also asked the questions: 'What is 6 7?' and 'What is a tariff?'.
