A man in his 50s has died following a fatal single-vehicle road traffic incident at the Sarsfield Roundabout, Wilton, Cork city,on Wednesday.

The incident, involving a car, occurred at approximately 1:50pm.

The driver was conveyed to Cork University Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

The scene was preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The road has since reopened.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 1pm and 2pm on Wednesday are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
