Two of four men arrested in relation to an incident where a firearm was discharged in Limerick city in May have been charged.

The incident occurred in the Hyde Avenue area, Ballinacurra Weston in the city on Thursday, May 8th, 2025.

The two men, both in their 20s, are due to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court to be held at Killmallock Court on Saturday, November 29th.

The two other men arrested, who are both in their late teens, remain detained at garda stations in the Co Limerick area under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Investigations are ongoing, gardaí said.
