Black Friday: Some of the best deals to look out for
In what is always a good day to get a bargain for Christmas, people across the country are looking for some of the best bargains Black Friday has to offer.
In regard to Irish businesses, there are several reductions if you are hoping to get some presents with Christmas, just under a month away.
In sports clothing and equipment, Elverys have a buy one get 50 per cent off for Black Friday. There is also a 50 per cent sale on the JD Sports Ireland website.
For other clothes outlets, EJ Menswear have up to 50 per cent off men's clothes. There are also reductions at Carraig Donn, and between 40 to 80 per cent off at Prettylittlething.
Very Ireland's sale continues to next week, while there are also reductions at Kilkenny Design. At Spirit Clothing, there are sales of up to 70 per cent off.
For electronics, such as televisions, AirPods, smartwatches, and tablets, Harvey Norman has sales across the board, as well as on Amazon.
In a new element to Black Friday, the TikTok shop has become an option.
Fior Jewellery has a 20 per cent sale. Fada Jewellery have an exclusive TikTok Shop offering only on their Fada knit jumpers, which will have 20 per cent off for Black Friday.
For beauty, Kash Beauty has a 45 per cent sale on some of their bestsellers on TikTok, while BPerfect Cosmetics Ireland is live every day until December 1st with exclusive offers.
Shoppers are being warned to be extra cautious of online scams this Black Friday.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission is advising people to be especially wary of ads on social media, as scammers are using convincing clones of trusted websites and fake local shops.
40 per cent of people expect to make a purchase in the sales across the weekend.
Grainne Griffin from the CCPC says this is a popular time of year for online fraud.
"Between now and Christmas, people are going to spend a lot of money. They are going to spend a lot of it online, buying from online websites.
"Really, we can see so many consumers have been scammed by just clicking too quickly and losing money to very convincing scam websites."
