A man has been arrested after gardaí seized over €490,000 in suspected cocaine.

Gardaí stopped a van in the village of Hospital in Co Limerick last night as part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs.

In the course of a search of the man's car gardaí discovered suspected cocaine, cash and a number of electronic items.

The man in his 20s is being held at a Garda station in the Limerick area.

Investigations are ongoing.
