Yellow rain and wind warnings are in place for several counties this weekend.

A rain warning for Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo is in place from 9pm on Saturday to 9pm on Sunday.

Met Éireann is warning of heavy or thundery rain with possible spot flooding and difficult travelling conditions.

There is also a wind warning for Clare, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo.

They are warning of fallen branches, loose debris and difficult travelling conditions.

That warning is in place from 6am on Sunday to 2pm tomorrow.

A separate wind warning is also in place for Wicklow from 10am on Sunday to 5pm on Sunday.

Met Éireann said it will be largely dry to start Saturday with areas of fog slowly clearing to sunny spells and a few scattered showers.

It will turn cloudier through the day with outbreaks of rain and drizzle developing in the south and west. A milder day with highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly winds.

Sunday will bring showers or longer spells of rain, heavy at times, with the chance of hail and thunder. There will be some sunny spells too, the best of these in the southwest and south.

It will be windy in many areas for a time with strong to near gale force west to northwest winds, especially over Connacht, north Munster and Leinster. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees with winds moderating later.

Met Éireann said overall it will be drier and brighter for the start of the week before turning more unsettled and milder from around mid-week.

Most places will be dry and bright with sunny spells on Monday. A few showers will continue around western and northern coastal areas. Highest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees, coolest in eastern areas, in moderate north to northwest winds.

A generally dry and bright day on Tuesday with sunshine and the chance of just the odd light shower.

Cloud will increase from the west later on, bringing some patchy rain to Atlantic areas. Highest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in a light westerly breeze backing southerly.
