Co Wexford remains on alert for the possibility of flooding in Enniscorthy following heavy rains associated with Storm Claudia overnight.

Properties were flooded in the Gorey area as the River Ounavarra burst its banks while there was flooding incidents in Castlebridge and Mayglass.

Pictures from Courtown Woods showed the river at the level of the bridge on the popular walking trail.

Bridgetown is another area that saw bad flooding.

Crews from Wexford County Council and the local services responded to these incidents and they remain on standby for high tide.

There have been some delays to Irish Rail services on the Rosslare line due to high water levels.
