The man, aged in his 20s, who was arrested by gardaí, is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in the Clare-Tipperary Division.

A man has been arrested after 30kg of cannabis was seized at Shannon Airport on Wednesday.

Revenue Customs Officers seized cannabis with an estimated value of €600,000.

The man, aged in his 20s, who was arrested by gardaí, is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in the Clare-Tipperary Division.

The drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
